Article Processing Charges

Journal of Sports Medicine and Orthopedics Advances (JSMOA) will charge an Article Processing Fee (APC) of GBP 999.

The submitted manuscripts will go through the stringent three-phase review process with high-quality editing and after acceptance gets published in the upcoming issue. DOI is assigned to all the published articles through CrossRef. The expertized in-house team is trying to index the journal in all the prominent databases by following the guidelines set by the indexing databases. The articles get archived on Portico in addition to the website. We will try to archive and make accessible on ScienceOpen.

An author's capacity to pay APCs is not a factor in the firmness of whether to publish. Authors residing in one of the United Nations' list of Least Developed Countries may avail discounts on the article processing charges. See UN country list for complete details. Kindly reach the publisher directly at jsmoa@medcliph.com for availing the discounts.

Who is liable for making the payment?

Upon the acceptance of the manuscript, the person who submits the article is responsible for paying the article processing charges—the corresponding author in the paper through funding agencies, institutions or by self.

When should I pay the publishing fee?

Upon editorial acceptance of an article, the correspondence author is notified about the payment due.

What is the mode of payment?

We accept money transfer in either of the two modes.

  1. Bank Transfer
  2. PayPal

The invoice contains all the necessary information for the money transfer.

The authors should bear local taxes and card processing charges. We request to go through the tax regulations of your country.

Am I liable to pay if the article is rejected?

No

Am I liable to pay if I withdraw my article?

The author can withdraw their article at any stage of the editorial process. If the author wishes to withdraw the article before the acceptance, then the author does not need to pay the article processing charges, but a minimum charge of GBP 300 should be paid for our services. If the author wishes to withdraw the article after the editorial acceptance, then the full amount of GBP 999 to be paid in full.

Why I am liable to pay publishing fee?

According to Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0), all the articles published in JSMOA are open-access and freely available, i.e. whoever has access to the internet can access the articles without any restriction.

The typical costs associated with the publication of articles can be grouped under three categories.

Technology: To have an online presence, we require a platform for publication, hosting, necessary security features and email services.

Article-processing: Collecting articles, a preliminary inspection of the manuscript to ensure adherence to guidelines, plagiarism check, communicating between authors/editors/reviewers, organizing peer review, receiving revised manuscripts, copyediting, performing corrections by authors, typesetting, layout editing, proofreading, graphic design, assigning DOI to articles, reference checking, assigning DOI to references, indexing.

Post-publication activities: All the accepted articles need to be converted into suitable formats to submit in different indexing databases. To preserve the articles using Portico and other service providers. To promote and market the articles and to have continued online presence.
